Integral Somatic Psychology

Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP), developed by Dr. Raja Selvam, a leading expert in Somatic Experiencing, offers a powerful approach to enhancing emotional resilience. ISP helps you build emotional capacity by expanding emotions throughout the body, making them more manageable and easier to process. As emotions become more tolerable, you’ll find improvements in how you think and behave in challenging situations.

Using simple yet effective tools—such as self-touch, breathwork, and mindful movement—ISP allows you to integrate and apply these practices outside of sessions for lasting change. I have completed advanced training in this transformative method and am a certified practitioner.

Somatic Abolitionism

In 2022, I took Resmaa Menakam’s Foundations in Somatic Abolitionism course, deepening my understanding of racialized trauma. Drawing on my personal experiences as an Indian-American and my extensive professional background in graduate school and community-based internships, I offer specialized support for those navigating the profound impacts of racialized trauma.

Hakomi

Hakomi is an innovative mind-body psychotherapy that fosters a safe, supportive environment for your unconscious to emerge. This approach encourages profound inner work, including exploring your inner child, uncovering core beliefs, and accessing key memories.

Hakomi emphasizes mindfulness, helping you become deeply aware of your thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. This enhanced awareness paves the way for meaningful insights and lasting transformation.

Developed by pioneers in the field, some of whom also worked closely with Dick Schwartz, the founder of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Hakomi integrates sophisticated techniques for emotional healing.

I completed the comprehensive Hakomi training in 2016 and have further refined my skills through weekly supervision with a certified Hakomi practitioner. In addition, I assisted with Hakomi Pro Skills 2 from 2023 to 2024 and am actively pursuing certification to deepen my expertise.

Birth Trauma Work

I had the privilege of studying directly with Ray Castellino from 2016 to 2018 through his foundational training. Castellino’s pioneering work in birth trauma has deeply influenced my practice, allowing me to integrate his transformative principles into my approach.

Incorporating Castellino’s methods, I focus on creating a healing environment that emphasizes welcoming presence, self-Care, empowered choice, mutual support and cooperation, the power of the pause, and confidentiality.

These principles guide our work together, offering a compassionate and effective approach to addressing birth trauma and fostering deep emotional healing.

Revolutionary Mind-Body Therapy for Chronic Pain and Illness

My personal journey into therapy began during college when I faced a persistent repetitive stress injury (RSI) that resisted all forms of treatment, both conventional and alternative. My breakthrough came with Dr. John Sarno's mind-body medicine approach, which revealed that while my physical symptoms were genuine, the root cause was an overwhelmed nervous system struggling with repressed emotions. Remarkably, using this method, I resolved my RSI within just a few weeks.

If you're dealing with unexplained medical issues or chronic pain that hasn’t been alleviated by conventional medicine, I can help you explore this transformative approach. Many clients find significant relief and resolution through a mind-body therapy approach, and I'm here to guide you towards that possibility.

In addition to the above modalities, I have also taken the Somatica training in 2018 and have been a student of the Diamond Approach from 2011 to 2022, both of which inform my practice.
